The Story of Mori House

Mori House began as a personal retreat.

After years of caring for patients and running busy dental clinics, I dreamed of creating a peaceful place where I could slow down, reconnect with nature, and simply breathe. What started as my own holiday home gradually became a place I wanted to share with others.

Nestled in Klongthom, Krabi, Mori House is surrounded by one of Thailand’s most underrated treasures. While many visitors come to Krabi for its beaches and islands, Klongthom remains a hidden gem known for its natural hot springs, mineral-rich onsen pools, lush countryside, and slower pace of life. It is a place where locals come to unwind, and where visitors can discover a quieter, more authentic side of Krabi.

The house itself is over 13 years old and has been lovingly restored rather than rebuilt. We wanted to preserve its character while giving it a new life inspired by Japandi design—combining Japanese simplicity with Scandinavian warmth—surrounded by a meadow-style garden designed to encourage calm, reflection, and connection with nature.

During the renovation, a small stray cat appeared on site and quietly decided to stay. We named her Mori, and before long she became part of the family. Today, Mori the cat remains the heart of the house, often greeting guests and reminding us that the best things in life are usually unplanned.

Although Mori House was originally created as my own place to unwind, it has also become a welcoming home for patients and guests visiting Krabi. Whether you’re here for a relaxing holiday, a wellness escape, or dental treatment nearby, we hope you will feel at home from the moment you arrive.

To make your stay even more memorable, we can arrange a traditional tea ceremony, homemade Thai pinto lunch, and afternoon tea in the garden—simple experiences designed to help you slow down, savour the moment, and enjoy the gentle rhythm of life in Klongthom.
